CUP’s board is making big changes!

CUP’s board is making big changes!

Every nonprofit has a board. But what are they even for? Ideally, the board helps guide and support the organization to achieve its mission and navigate challenges. We’re lucky to have a board that does that and more.

Throughout Covid, the CUP board has stepped up to help us find our way through a constantly-shifting landscape of challenges. As we worked closely with our Executive Committee in particular, we realized that we were shaping a new kind of board in the ways we were solving problems collectively and sharing leadership.

So this fall, we moved to a new, shared leadership model that better reflects the reality of how our board works, and the values we hold as an organization. We’re so excited to share that CUP’s board is now led by an Executive Committee that makes decisions collectively. And we’ve replaced our Board Chair position with two Co-Chairs, who will share duties and bring a broader range of perspectives to our work together.

We’re beyond excited to announce that our Board Co-Chairs are Ariel Fausto and Sabrina Hall. They join Treasurer Jason Kim and Secretary Inbar Kishoni. You can read more about our exciting new Co-Chairs here!

We’ve worked hard to build a board that reflects a range of skills, identities, and experiences. But we’re also extremely lucky to have a board made up of the most amazingly thoughtful and kind people. We are grateful to all of our board members for all they do to drive CUP’s work, and we’re so excited to work closely with Sabrina and Ariel in their new roles!
