Launch of Sign Up!

 Launch of _Sign Up!_

On November 9th, CUP launched Sign Up!, a pocket-sized fold-out guide that explains the right of Deaf individuals' access to an interpreter. A collaboration of CUP, New York Lawyers for Public Interest (NYLPI) and designer Grace Robinson-Leo, the guide illustrates key examples of both good and illegal interpretation practices in spaces a Deaf individual may find themselves in like, a doctors or government office, police stations, schools, or even when talking to a lawyer. Illegal practices are illustrated to show key moments where individuals can identify their right to request an interpreter to have clear and easy communication.

Launched at Pop Pub with NYLPI and All Hands in Motion Professional Sign Language Interpreters LLC, folks came together for a night full of discussion of interpretation access, and organizing in the Deaf community alongside delicious food from Pop Pub.

Check out Sign Up! and get your own copy of the guide here.
