Making Policy Public at the Lisbon Architecture Triennale

_Making Policy Public_ at the Lisbon Architecture Triennale

From November 1st to the 3rd, CUP exhibited our Making Policy Public posters at The Institute Effect, a special exhibition area presented as part of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. The exhibition space, located in Lisbon's historic Museu do Design e da Moda, plays host to a rotating group of international cultural institutions this fall.

As the eighth organization ‘in residence’ CUP maintained office hours in the space and showcased a variety of past projects. On Saturday, November 2nd, CUP hosted a public lecture called “Design and Political Change.” CUP’s Christine Gaspar and Valeria Mogilevich were joined in conversation by Frederico Duarte, a design writer, critic, and curator who teaches at ESAD Caldas da Rainha and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon; Isabel Minhós, of the picture-book publisher Planeta Tangerina; and João Seixas, a professor of urban geography at the University of Lisbon and and Associate director of Ler Devagar Cultural Centre. The conversation focused on ways in which design and visual culture can be used to to advocate for political change.
