School’s Out, CUP’s In!

School's Out, CUP's In!

As the school year is wrapping up, we’re excited to share the students’ hard work! High school students across NYC got out of the classroom and into the city to investigate social justice issues in their neighborhoods. By collaborating with Teaching Artists, interviewing stakeholders, and surveying community members, students created educational tools for their community and peers. Take a look at their investigations below!

A Bet on Debt digs deep into the issue of student debt to help other students and their family navigate the complicated world of student loans.

Blunt Conversations unpacks New York City’s marijuana policies and their impact on local communities.

Care Aware takes a look at the new NYC Care policy and how a universal health care policy could impact immigrant communities.

Is Suspension the Solution? investigates suspensions and teaches others about how to help students, educators, and families, navigate school suspensions.

Let’s Hang Out investigates New York City’s loitering laws, and how the policies and their enforcement could be transformed.

Prison Profits: Who Pays the Price is a guide to understand the cost of prison, who profits from it, and who pays for it.

Whose Art? digs deep into the world of public art and informs others on how they can bring public art into their neighborhoods.

If you’d like to get your own physical copies of these tools, check out the complete set in our online store here
